During the 80’s, 10 Years of civil war kept El Salvador fantastic waves virgin and exclusive for Salvadorans. As peace was signed in 1992, this country –the smallest of Central America- opened its doors to many of the best surfers in the world who secretly came and discovered what Salvadorans have had for years: 320 Km. of point breaks, deep water breaks and beach breaks along its Pacific Coastline, all this in warm water, over 300 days a year, in other words, Paradise! Direct flights to El Salvador are available from many of the major cities of the United States such as Los Angeles, San Francisco, Dallas, Houston, Chicago, Boston, New York, Washington and Miami through TACA, American Airlines, Continental, United and Delta also have daily flights from its major Hubs.
Going to the bank? No need! El Salvador’s currency is the American dollar, and most places will take your credit cards. ATM’s are also available in most of our gas stations. ........................................................................................................................................
While
sunny year round, El Salvador has two seasons: Dry Season (Nov-April)
and Rainy season (May-October). The Dry season or summer has solid waves
around the 3-6 ft., and the Rainy season –which is actually dry
and sunny almost every day with occasional storms during afternoons
and evenings- averages around 7 ft. with days around the 8-12 ft. Either
the Rainy or Dry season, we encourage you to book a few weeks prior
to your trip to assure accommodation, surf guide and wave availability
as we want to keep our waves un-crowded! ........................................................................................................................................ |
